David Wood came to Haskell County Healthcare System in 2005. Prior to becoming a Physician Assistant, Mr. Wood held positions including medical assistant, IV technical supervisor, emergency medical technician, college instructor and Army Combat Medic. His 14+ years past medical experience prior to becoming a PA complements his medical training.

Mr. Wood received his board certification from National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and his certificate of completion of Physician Assistant program from University of Washington School of Medicine, MEDEX. Mr. Wood completed advanced clinic rotations in Trauma Surgery, Neurology at the renowned Queens Square Neurology Hospital in London England and Family Practice. Additionally, Mr. Wood has served on the Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA) and the Student Academy of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (SAAAPA) Board of Directors.

Mr. Wood's past and present responsibilities at Haskell County Healthcare System have included oversight of the Rural Health Clinic, implementation of patient care specific to the age of the patient population, assurance that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, and instructing and counseling patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living and health maintenance.
